2024 Fern House Fall Brunch

You are cordially invited to join us Saturday November 16, 2024 at 9AM at the Palm Beach Yacht Club for the 2024 Fern House Fall Brunch. This year we will be celebrating Fern House's connection to the legal system and the rest of the recovery community.

Featured Speaker: Carey Houghwout, Public Defender for Palm Beach County: As she prepares to embark on retirement in January, Fern House wants to celebrate the career of Carey Houghwout. Over the years, Carey's office has partnered with Fern House on countless cases winning placement in a program as part of the resolution of that individuals' legal troubles. As Carey prepares to pass the torch and ride off into retirement, we wanted to take a moment and say thank you on behalf of the thousands of individuals that got this chance and made a new start in life.

Featured Speaker: Al Johnson, Addiction Recovery Task Force:

Alan S. Johnson is the Chief Assistant State Attorney for the 15th Judicial Circuit, Palm Beach County. Mr. Johnson leads the State Attorney’s Addiction Recovery Task Force, which has lead to Palm Beach County creating an Addiction Stabilization Unit (ASU) utilizing a local hospital emergency room as a trauma model to receive opioid overdose emergency transports, partnering with the Palm Beach County Health Care District, to treat Substance Use Disorder patients more efficiently and effectively. The ASU model has been emulated throughout the State of Florida as a best practice in receiving and treating emergency overdose victims.

In addition, we plan on breaking some pretty big news to the crowd at the Yacht Club as well, you will want to be there as we get ready to embark on a new journey.

Please consider joining us as we celebrate the incredible progress the legal system has made in breaking the stigmatism of substance use disorder.
